Welcome to Anthem, New York

We’re happy to have you. Here are some tips to help you get started with your new Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield HP plan.

Five easy steps to get your NY Anthem plan going

1. Check the mail for your ID card

Once you have your member ID card, remember to bring it to all your medical visits. If it’s been more than two weeks since you enrolled and you haven’t received it yet, give us a call at 800-300-8181 (TTY 711). MLTC members, call 855-661-0002 (TTY 711).

2. Create your online account

It’s quick and easy. You’ll need your member ID number, birthdate, and ZIP code. Once your account is set up, you can use it to view or print your digital ID card, change your primary care provider (PCP), manage prescriptions, and connect to live chat.

3. Visit your PCP

Your main doctor is called a primary care provider, or PCP. Your PCP is listed on your member ID card and in your online account. Call to make an appointment as soon as you can. All new Anthem members should see their PCP within 90 days of joining.

4. Complete your Health Risk Screener

As a new member, you’ll fill out a Health Risk Screener (HRS). It’s a short questionnaire that helps us connect you to the care and doctors you need. You may even be eligible for extra programs and services based on your HRS.

5. Learn about your benefits

We’re here to help you make the most of your benefits and receive the best possible care. Learn more about your Anthem plan —  visit our benefits page or refer to your member handbook.
